Chain Reaction

With: LUCHEZAR BOYADJIEV ISKRA BLAGOEVA SIMEON MARKOV CATHERINE BELL RASSIM® STELA VASILEVA DESISLAVA ILIEVA & VOIN DE VOIN OPENING 7/03/19 From 19h. running 07-29/3 2019 Welcome at the second installment of the experimental platform that was launched at the beginning of this year with the show “Out of the box”. At present we are reveling the outcome of the following proposition – THE CHAIN REACTION. The playground started as a wish to spin a cycle of reactions and reflections based on various sensory and perceptive testimonies, where each artist delivers a site of his/her own practice. In all levels the invited artists have been asked to meditate upon a line of thought that doesn’t deviate from the personal, and still is in tact with the visual converse. Each one receives a work sent to them by Æ- anonymously, and after a surge and work, they create a related to that piece new one, or in progress.Later it is passed on to the next one, and so on, until the chain turns, until the completion of full round cycle of transformations and responses. The experiment is looking closer at the idea of collective practices and their cross sections.Looks at the tools for creating new visual narratives in a group. Asks the question of what importance is the past in talking or fully understanding the present and how do we imagine possible collective futures? Can we solve a mystery—an ancient one by ourselves-or in group effort. On the beginning of the chain stands Luchezar Boyadjiev, as the captain of the ship who throws his seed into our new fast growing economy, under the spell of political innuendo. Further the chain has been send out to reaction to Iskra Blagoeva. From her it gets to Simeon Markov who marks his art debut in the net of experienced professionals. Markov’s pieces has travelled the world and by reaching the other side in Melbourne, Australia, we got a transfer back by an artist of many virtues and media juggler Catherine Bell. When the chain entangles the world as an octopus, it arrived in the hands of RASSIM®, who on his behalf, still smelling petrol skin, enhances his canvas with his body fluids and pheromones before it expands to its almost last destination -Stela Vasileva, who give a bright answer to all that was once dead or alive. Last, but mot least Dessislava Ilieva and Voin de Voin join in a trip of performative response to deliver a taste of presence and drill, and fill in the gaps between the performative and the visual.
